Hello Hawthorn Hills Families!
Hawthorn Hills is a place where diversity is appreciated and individual learning needs are consistently met. Our Mission is: Teachers, parents, and community members working together in a positive environment to provide the tools and opportunities for each child to attain high standards in academics and citizenship.
The Hawthorn Hills student population includes students with limited English Proficiency, special education needs, and those with exceptional abilities. Our dedicated classroom teachers and paraprofessionals collaborate effectively with special educators, subject area specialists and parents to provide a rigorous curriculum that is consistently differentiated to meet the unique and individual needs of all of our students.
What separates Hawthorn Hills:
- The SAGE program here at Hawthorn Hills reduces class sizes in Kindergarten through third grade to an average of 18 students.
- Our school schedule adopted during the 2013-2014 school years provides a Response to Intervention (RTI) structure that allows for a 40 minute Intervention and Enrichment block every day. This differentiated instructional time along with what classroom teachers do each and every day during reading and math provide our students with an educational program to meet all students.
- We have a school breakfast and snack program that is provided to students each morning.
